Follow these steps to learn how to set up a rain barrel to water my garden.
Step 1: Find the nearest corner of your house accessible to your garden with a gutter spout.
Step 2: Place the rain barrel under the gutter You may need to cut the length of your gutter and adjust the end piece. You want the water to pour into your rain barrel from your gutter.
Step 3: Once your rain barrel is set up, hook up your garden hose to the spout at the bottom of the rain barrel.
Step 4: Run the hose to your garden. Bonus credit: Dig a trench to bury your hose. Triple credit: Run the hose through a pvc pipe in a trench.
Step 5: Connect a nozzle at the end of the hose. You will want a nozzle that has an on/off switch. Create a hook on your fence to store the nozzle.
Step 6: Turn the nozzle on and water your garden. Tada!
